Providers deliver care to patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. As formal caregivers, providers offer primary and medical specialty care, behavioral health services, and support and outreach services to patients to decrease the likelihood of transmission, increase access to quality care, and improve patient outcomes. Provider teams may include primary care physicians, infectious disease specialists, nurses/physician assistants, medical assistants, medical case managers, mental and behavioral health specialty teams, substance abuse counselors, pharmacists, and community health workers.
